Mikkeller, which started as a brewpub between two mates in Denmark, is famed for its rich and powerful beers (stouts and porters). The new batch highlights why these guys have gained notoriety in the last couple of years. From the Breakfast Geek to The Black Hole, these incredibly rich and intense beers will blow you away and send you to a new level of expectations if dark beers are your tipple of choice.
The Beer Geek Bacon stout is a well-rounded meal in a bottle suitable for that lazy Sunday morning when it is too much effort to sort that Olde English fry up. Smoke, smoke and more smoke on the nose coupled with warm seductive roasted malt barley and coffee. This is not a beer meek and mild but for those that love their meals in liquid form.
Also from Mikkeller is George. God, this beer is so big and full-on that you will need a whiskey chaser as a palate cleanser. George has profound notes of licorice, dried fruits, chocolate and tobacco. This could possibly be Baphomet’s beer of choice.
